The AgroEcoNum PEPR at the 2026 International Agricultural Show

On Thursday, 26 February 2026, during the International Agricultural Show, the PEPR Agroecology and Digital Technology programme took part in the meeting entitled ‘Artificial intelligence: what transformative potential for agriculture?’ at the INRAE stand.

The meeting was marked by three highlights:

  • Concrete examples of research work: from participatory AI for plant health to digital twins of dairy farms, remote sensing of abandoned vineyards and animal welfare monitoring: projects that show that AI is already at work in the service of agroecological transition.
  • An open dialogue between researchers and field actors with ACTA, agricultural technical institutes, La Ferme Digitale and Chambers of Agriculture. The round table highlighted shared challenges and expectations: practical applications for farmers, interoperability and value of data use, development of trusted AI and sovereign platforms, and the evolution of agricultural advisory tools.
  • A defining moment: the meeting ended with the signing of a framework agreement between INRAE and Inria, which will strengthen the synergies between the two institutes to mobilise responsible digital technology for the benefit of the agroecological transition of agri-food systems.

Thank you to all the speakers and to the large audience!
